Vehicle Description Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 22nd year in the classic and muscle car business.
As America emerged from WWII, automobile stylists were forced to dust off their prewar designs because arms production had supplanted auto manufacturing during the war.
The race was on for a new look that would capture the hearts and wallets of the rapidly expanding middle class in postwar America.
Ford, as well as their Mercury division, was the first of the 'Big Three' American manufacturers to cash in on the new 'envelope' bodies that blended fenders and doors into one cohesive form.
Mercury's version became so iconic that most of these classics have been customized beyond restorable condition, leaving very few original examples.
This magnificent 1950 Deluxe Six Passenger Coupe (M72-B) is a beautiful exception to that trend.
A rust-free cream puff from Los Angeles that a prior owner kept for 49 years (!), this stunning specimen is painted Royal Bronze Maroon and sports the Tan and Brown Stripe Bedford Cord (55) interior.
Additional features include the original silky smooth 255 ci flathead V8 (8CM) with correct Ford-Holley carburetor, 3-speed manual transmission with optional overdrive, optional 8 tube AM radio, and appropriate wide whitewall tires.
Please note the outstanding condition of the chassis, engine compartment, upholstery, trim, and paint in the images.
Here's a fun fact:
you can hear the clock tick with the engine running! A vintage Allstate Car Cooler (evaporative) with the original box and instructions is included with purchase.
Another top-shelf classic from the Texas Hill Country's premier source for classic vehicles.
